宮崎友里の刺繍絵
Yuri Miyazaki | embroidery drawing Artist
Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, School of Visual Design.
Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan → Tokyo → Moved to Nagano.
Started self-taught embroidery painting around 2015 and continues to produce and hold solo exhibitions.
In 2018, I was listed as one of 34 contemporary craft artists in the world in Handmade Art : Explorations in Contemporary Craft (Sandu Publishing).
In addition to creating tapestries and lampshades for space, I am also involved in graphic design, including book illustrations and packaging.
The motifs of my embroidered pictures are often the mountains of Shinshu and imaginary beasts, with margins compared to conventional dense embroidery, and three-dimensional stitches that spiral across the front and back of the translucent fabric.

金沢美術工芸大学視覚デザイン学部卒。
石川県金沢市生まれ→東京→長野へ移住。
2015年頃より独学で刺繍絵を始め、制作と個展を継続して行う。
2018年、Handmade Art : Explorations in Contemporary Craft (Sandu Publishing)において世界の現代クラフトアーティスト34人として掲出される。
タペストリーやランプシェードの空間演出のほか、本の挿絵やパッケージなどグラフィックデザインにも携わる。
刺繍絵のモチーフは信州の山並みや架空の獣が多く、従来の密度の高い刺繍に比べ余白があり、半透明の生地の表裏を螺旋のように彩る立体的なステッチが特徴。
